ABSTRACT

National economic input–output models have received the greatest attention, but they are not the only input–output models of interest. In this book, we have used the 1997 U.S. national benchmark input–output model extensively. Chapter 17 describes a comparable but smaller national model for Canada. Similar national models exist for many countries, although few have been developed to include a range of environmental impacts as in EIO-LCA. Chapter 16 describes ways to estimate regional or state-wide models based upon multipliers of the national input–output models. Small scale models and models in physical units (rather than dollars) may also be of interest.
