Some institutions have in-house printers, but often will need to find a local copy shop. It may also be possible to print the poster in the country of conference if are going overseas. Try to avoid last-minute printing, as this can compromise the quality of the printed poster. As soon as know when poster will be ready, tell biomedical researchers print supplier. Most print suppliers who work directly with scientists will be able to work with PowerPoint files—though it is worth checking that their versions of PowerPoint are compatible. Tell print supplier if they have used a large amount of a strong or unusual colour on poster. The printer may have to source additional inks. Check the poster carefully before accepting it from the print supplier. There are occasions where the printed item is poor quality. Check the cost of producing handouts with the printer supplier, as it might be surprisingly expensive.
