ABSTRACT

Biomedical researchers have put a lot of work into creating a good poster, but having a printed poster in their hand is only part of the story. Make sure they have a suitable means of transporting the finished poster. Do not fold poster. If they are adding an audio device or using a laptop as part of poster presentation, package it carefully and keep it with them throughout the journey to the conference. If they are using a laptop to augment the data on the paper poster, try to book a small table from the conference organisers rather than balancing the laptop on knee or putting it on the floor. This is particularly important if keen to meet potential collaborators or employers, or if have a controversial poster that merits a lot of explaining and debating. As a poster presenter, may be requested by the conference scientific committee to stand by poster at specific times during the conference.
