ABSTRACT

Electronic poster presentations (e-posters) are part of the established scientific programme of some major conferences. E-posters are web-page documents submitted and designed online by the authors. In fact, being offered an e-poster can be a good option, as there are fewer restrictions on word count and size of figures and tables. Having an e-poster does not mean that they lose the interaction with colleagues that traditional posters allow. Delegates can interact with authors via email or through online chat forums. Often e-posters are just viewed by delegates online, but at some meetings they are projected and the presenter has the chance to talk delegates through them. Each type of e-poster design software is different. Some allow a lot of flexibility in design and content, and others are quite restrictive. Because e-posters have fewer restrictions on length, it is possible to have more text, figures and tables than normal.
