ABSTRACT

In contemporary studies in sociology, economics, and other fields, the family life cycle approach has been widely used to distinguish, identify, and classify family development stages and types. Changes in the family life cycle will inevitably lead to changes in family form and family structure. There is an inevitable connection between family life cycle and family size. Since most transition points in the family life cycle are conditioned on changes in family members, changes in the family life cycle are bound to cause changes in the size of the family. The fast-paced lifestyle of modern society makes it easier for small families to gain a foothold, and large-scale population migration also increases the flow of family members, thereby leading to a decline in family size.
