ABSTRACT
There are certain myths or stereotypes around autism that are unfortunately often still referred to. Previously there was a campaign from the National Autistic Society to try and increase ‘awareness' of autism. The campaign concluded that the average ‘man on the street' has heard of autism, but does not really understand it, and certainly doesn't understand the intricacies related to specific areas such as how gender comes into play.
