ABSTRACT

This chapter answers three fundamental questions: Can you identify or select or develop ethical leaders? While many shy away from definitive answers to these questions, the authors believe each of the questions can be answered in the affirmative and offer a variety of methods and approaches to practical answers to the questions. Using the competencies of ethical leadership, the authors provide a framework for identifying ethical leaders based on moral courage, a series of tools for selecting ethical leaders, and a structure for developing ethical leaders based on traditional training and a discussion-based methodology.
