ABSTRACT

Culture trumps all else. You can select and develop ethical leaders and team members, but if the culture does not support and reward ethical behavior the outcome is likely to be unethical actions on the part of the organization. This chapter explores the components of an ethical culture and explains why otherwise ethical people behave inappropriately. The chapter offers a series of recommendations on how an organization can change its culture to be ethical, and how an organization can sustain an ethical culture over a period of time.
