ABSTRACT

In this final chapter we review the concepts and approaches we have explored over the course of this book. We delve into possible approaches to incentivize ethical behavior and conduct within organizations. Furthermore, we zoom in on one key mindset of the ethical leader: the mindset of asking questions rather than providing answers. This is key for nurturing and fostering ethical cultures where people take accountability, feel free to flag misconduct, and strive to be the best versions of themselves. In addition to this, we revisit the importance of being able to resolve problems and grapple with complexity. Of course, we take a closer look at future trends ethical leaders must reckon with when leading their business based on sound ethical reasoning. Toward the end of this chapter, we share a comprehensive model encompassing the essentials of our take on ethical leadership, including love, north-star orientation, navigation of complex systems, ego termination, and pragmatic idealism (to name but a few).
