ABSTRACT

Management becomes the conduit through which organizational culture is defined, reinforced, and amplified throughout the hierarchy, for better or worse. Organizational values impact the fundamental beliefs exhibited in an organization’s behavior and decision-making style. The ability to establish and maintain a mindset of operational excellence is rooted in an organization’s values, behaviors, structure, and discipline. Creating, changing, or sustaining a culture requires organizational commitment. Organizational alignment happens when a company’s vision, mission, and strategy are aligned with their policies, practices, and procedures. Policy deployment is a method to deploy the company’s approved strategy, at all organizational levels. Understanding what influences organizational commitment will help strengthen that commitment. A good plan is, a SMART plan, derived from the organizational strategy. SMART is an acronym for Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic, and Timely. To some, the values of an organization are considered an influential and enduring determinant of sustainable performance.
