ABSTRACT

This provides an introduction to the author – given that this book is all about relationships and the importance of getting to know one another.

Chapter 1 looks at what and who leads us into teaching, how to look after ourselves before we can look after others (including what you can control and focusing on that), what inclusion actually means, and the differences between differentiation’ and ‘adaptive teaching’, with reference to the Early Career Framework and a move away from the more traditional ‘differentiation’ to the more responsive ‘adaptive teaching’. What makes this book different to other books about inclusive classrooms is the adaptation of approaches towards children and young people (relational restorative practice), as opposed to simply adapting resources.
