ABSTRACT

Everything a business does must make sense, support its long-term plans and be in accord with whatever values, mission and purpose it has adopted to guide its work. No company operates in isolation; stakeholders are those whose lives are impacted by a business as it carries out its mission. Owners, shareholders, investors, customers, suppliers, neighbours and employees are ‘the family’ to whom a business owes loyalty, predictability, respect and a duty of care.
