ABSTRACT

Sustainable energy transitions are already being pursued in multiple ways. As these normative exercises are accelerated and brought to scale, pluralities and multiplicities in their delivery and reception can be also observed. In many developing countries, a heterogeneous assembly of factors will determine how these processes of transition will be navigated, negotiated, and sustained. These factors include these countries’ varying geographies, natural endowments, political systems, emission profiles, institutional capacities, and development stages.
