ABSTRACT
Forensic investigators may be asked to examine the external injuries of motor vehicle accident victims and formulate the cause and manner of death. This is very difficult to do accurately unless obvious severe craniocerebral injury is sustained. Subsequent autopsies frequently reveal unexpected injuries not diagnosed at the scene or in emergency rooms by external examination alone.
