ABSTRACT
The communicative organization of Cibervalle is based primarily on the combination of three communication systems. 7 Besides the publicly accessible online discussion forum, an instant messaging client is used for private communication between two or more participants. In addition, regular local meetings are held in the participants’ respective places of residence, which in turn are communicated back to the global public level of forum communication. The social formation Cibervalle is thus based on a complex interplay of different media-based and copresent forms of communication, interaction and mobility that are presented and analyzed in the following.
