ABSTRACT
In this essay, we share our experience of attending to metaphor in our narrative research projects and make a case for using narrative and metaphor together in research and teacher development. We also suggest particular ways in which this can be done. In this way, we address the common trend of keeping narrative and metaphor separate and help to build bridges between the two bodies of literature as well as between the practices these two bodies of literature have informed.
