ABSTRACT
‘This is an axial cut of a CT scan at the level of the temporal bones. There is opacification of the right mastoid air cells and soft tissue filling the lateral ear canal. There is erosion of mastoid cortex laterally and erosive changes along the anterior canal wall with sequestration of bone and loss of mandibular head cortex. My differential for such a process would include necrotising otitis externa (skull base osteomyelitis), ORN, and ear canal malignancy’.
