ABSTRACT

Networking is a systematic method of meeting people, finding out about them, and keeping in touch. For some people, particularly individuals who tend to be social, networking is second nature. As our culture becomes increasingly fast moving, in many fields, behavior analysis included, networking is essential to professional success. Most often, the nonbehavioral people a behavior analyst will be networking with will be other types of service providers, business owners, or potential clients. For networking to have any power, there must be trust and integrity on both sides. Behavior analysts must be prepared to engage in two types of networking. The first will be with nonbehavioral people, and the second will be with behavior analysis professionals. Speakers are invited from all over the country so that behavior analysts interested in networking can expand their network from those they work with in central Florida to new friends in Michigan, South Carolina, Georgia, Louisiana, California, and Oregon.
