ABSTRACT

In recent years, a lot of new technologies and new construction methods are used for the city shield works in Japan. The reason was the necessity for complicated geology, severe conditions of location, the environmental preservation, the cost reduction, and shortening work periods. In this report, we describe the outline of the new technology and new construction methods adopted as the shield works in the 500kV-power-transmission-line project within Osaka City by the Kansai Electric Power Co., Inc.
