ABSTRACT

Normal viscous force between two colliding rigid spheres with an interstitial Power-Law fluid, modeled by Adams et al, is analyzed for implementing into DEM simulation on ice crystal structured products. Dimensionless formulation is derived for two arbitrary spheres and its magnitude is estimated. Major factors affecting the force are analyzed. A numerical fitting method is proposed with which the force can be calculated explicitly and rapidly. An excellent agreement is shown comparing with numerical integration.
