ABSTRACT
The study of the behaviour of underground openings under seismic excitation is conducted by analytical and numerical methods. A comparison of the results obtained by two methods is also conducted in the case of a shallow circular tunnel with a concrete lining. The results of the stresses induced in tunnel lining, for the cases of longitudinal and shear waves, show a good agreement between the analytical and numerical models.
