ABSTRACT
Several strategies to prevent ovarian hyperstim ulation syndrome (OHSS) have been tried, and their rationale and efficacy are dealt with in other chapters of this book. Coasting in in vitro fertilization (IVF) was introduced in 19931, and has since been applied by many infertility cen ters, although the ultimate proof of its efficacy remains to be provided by a prospective ran domized trial. In this chapter, I consider a num ber of questions and try to give the currently available and generally accepted answers.
