ABSTRACT

The chapter reviews the historical context of temperament theory and links this theory to workplace to understand how this can be utilised to engage with the provision of suitable workspace for all. There has been limited research drawing the two areas together, but by gaining a greater understanding of how temperaments can aid our engagement of people within the workplace design there can be a move towards a greater sense of ‘humanness’ in the workplace. As we move through COVID-19 and beyond, there is a chance to re-evaluate the ways we work and to understand who uses the space and how they want to engage with it.
