ABSTRACT

With concerns about the environment, reactive power issues and the peak load demand problem it is imperative to connect capacitors and distributed generators (DGs) in a distribution network (DN). Also, a prominent method is presented for the solar DG and capacitor placement problem (CPP) in DN. Further, sensitivity analysis (SA) and the dragonfly algorithm (DA) is utilized to solve the location and sizing problem. Also, it is tested on a 69 bus system. Finally, various cases are considered and important observations are tabulated. From the results it is verified that the presented method minimizes the losses of DN to the desired level.
