ABSTRACT
The improvement in efficiency with lesser distortion in the output waveforms of voltage and current has been the primary goal in power electronics over the years. This paper proposes a model which incorporates the quasi-resonant properties in a three-level inverter called the ZVZCS three-level inverter. The distortion in the output waveforms with the change in the parameters of Lr and Cr is observed. It is compared with another inverter called Z-source inverter that was designed in such a way that it could withstand the short-circuiting of the network and hence improve the reliability of system. The short-circuiting of the legs was done intentionally to boost the input voltage and give the desired output. This research paper also provides a comparison of a quasi-resonant three level inverter and the Z-source inverter.
