ABSTRACT
In this digital era images are part of our daily life starting from a mobile phone screen unlock, social media to CCTV surveillance. Every day a massive number of images are captured and stored, but both these tasks are prone to noise. Day by day the demand for more conspicuous and accurate images is increasing. To fulfil this demand noise is required to be removed from the images. For this purpose, various algorithms are proposed and it is very difficult to choose one for the desired application. Every algorithm has its advantages and disadvantages, so in this paper we provide a comparative analysis of various algorithms on the standard dataset of colour images and evaluation of this comparison is achieved with a quantitative parameter PSNR. In addition, various promising directions for future research are provided.
