ABSTRACT

The methodology developed for the determination of the phase angle of pavement from a FWD time history data is described. The verification of the methodology based on FWD time history resulting from the measurements on the test section representing a semi-rigid and flexible pavement demonstrated the phase angle varies along the section. A slight decrease of phase angle with increasing temperature was mostly observed. The repeated loading by traffic (fatigue) has a marginal effect on the change of the phase angle.
