ABSTRACT

The focus of this study is to perform a science mapping analysis of the current research investigating the role of geographic information science in COVID-19 pandemic control and management. By reviewing the current scholarship, the author provides an overview and data visualization of the main themes and trends covered by the relevant literature. Presented in this review is a summary of the intellectual, conceptual, and social structures of research involving the role of a geographic information system (GIS) in COVID-19 pandemic management and control and their evolution and dynamic aspects. Further discussion is provided, along with a description of the review’s limitations and recommendations for future science mapping analysis studies.
