ABSTRACT
Hesse’s Narziss und Goldmund (NuG) (1927-29) offers his modern addressee a «mise en scène» to be understood as its hero’s metamorphosis so that the emerging critical reader may see it as a modern resilient literary artwork along which emotions are seen as a tool to change modern humanity’s point of view according to modern neurosciences thesis.
