ABSTRACT

Applied design research faces a new challenge: the ballet of disciplines. In “Dance? Dance!” Peter Troxler posits that designers must reclaim design thinking as the professional practice that they bring to transdisciplinary work. Artifacts play a central role as boundary objects to bring together different parties and stakeholders. When language doesn't suffice, such objects allow all parties involved to gain shared insights and come up with solutions. A joint dance in the ballet of disciplines.
