ABSTRACT
Chapter 10 provides an overview of the procedures and systems for quality control during the sewing process. Controls are important for understanding and ensuring the quality of products. Available systems on the market are introduced and further explained. Although recording and understanding production data during the sewing process reveal the influences of processes and their parameters on product quality, they do not prevent errors from occurring. These errors can be reduced by transitioning manual processes to automated ones. Automation allows processes to be controlled and influenced effectively. This chapter presents and explains the available systems for automation in the sewing process. The chapter concludes with an outlook on development trends and associated restrictions.
