ABSTRACT
Small and medium enterprises (SMEs) are the most affected group of businesses around the world during the COVID-19 pandemic, especially SMEs in developing countries. This study aims to investigate how the current literature discusses creativity and innovation in SMEs’ performance, in the specific context of the COVID-19 pandemic. This study considered scientific articles published in the Web of Sciences during 2012–2021 related to SMEs’ performance. It is found that the current literature discussed how creativity and innovation influenced SMEs’ performance during the COVID-19 pandemic. Besides, external factors such as government support is also an important factor in SMEs’ performance. The study contributes to the literature by developing a framework which involves the most current literature and provides a future research agenda.
