ABSTRACT

The purpose of barrette pile foundations is to transmit heavy loads into the ground and are becoming the preferred underground foundation system. In general, the static pile load tests are commonly conducted to estimate the pile bearing capacity and determine the in-situ soil parameters. In this study, a three-dimensional finite element model was used to simulate the behavior of barrette piles to determine in-situ soil parameters using the load-settlement relationship, and evaluating the pile behavior simulated by the structural elements-embedded beams.
