ABSTRACT
The high concentration of sulfate (SO4 2-), involved in wastewater and leachate, damages the environmental condition and human health when it leaks. This study aims to contain SO4 2- into the ground by applying chemical precipitation with calcium ions. The enzyme-induced carbonate precipitation (EICP) was proposed to get Ca2+ which remained after the reaction and the effect of SO4 2- was observed in terms of stiffness. The results showed SO4 2- solution decreased the shear wave velocity a little, which means it is negligible, and the SEM image proved SO4 2- was precipitated on the sand particle surface.
