ABSTRACT
In Bihar an estimated 10 million population are exposed to arsenic. This has caused severe health hazards in the population. The study was carried out in n = 100 subjects of Chapar village of Mohiuddinagar district of Samastipur district of Bihar. In the present study, severe arsenic contamination in ground water was observed. The subjects exhibited typical symptoms of arsenicosis like hyperkeatosis, melanosis, rain drop pigmentation etc. The arsenic contamination in hair samples was also very high in the exposed population. Presently, village population have no options of safe drinking water, hence immediate intervention is required.
