ABSTRACT

Christina Colclough is the founder of The Why Not Lab, an organization whose mission is to ensure that the digital world of work is empowering rather than exploitative. She holds a Ph.D. from the University of Copenhagen and has extensive global labor movement experience. That makes her unusually well positioned to bridge the gap between theory and practice and lead the conversation on workers’ digital rights. Colclough is included in the all-time Hall of Fame of the World’s most brilliant women in AI Ethics. She is also a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts in the UK, an Advisory Board member of Carnegie Council’s new AI and Equality Initiative, and a member of the UNESCO Women4EthicalAI Platform and the OECD One AI Expert Group. She is affiliated with FAOS, the Employment Relations Research Center at Copenhagen University, and in 2021, she was a member of the Steering Committee of the Global Partnership on AI (GPAI).
