ABSTRACT

School is one of the institutions and places of effort to foster the character of a student. The purpose of the research is to find out the effect of emotional intelligence, spiritual intelligence, and school culture on student character strengthening. While the research was conducted on high school students in Jambi province, the method used is a survey method with a quantitative approach using path analysis. The population of this study was 855 Islamic high school teachers in Jambi Province, with a random sampling technique. Data were collected by administering a questionnaire. The results showed (1) a positive and significant direct influence of emotional intelligence on school culture; (2) a positive and significant direct effect on spiritual intelligence; (3) a direct positive and significant effect of emotional intelligence on student character strengthening; (4) a direct positive and significant influence of spiritual intelligence on strengthening student character; (5) a direct positive and significant effect of work culture on student character strengthening; (6) an indirect effect of emotional intelligence on student character strengthening through school culture; and (7) a positive and significant indirect effect of spiritual intelligence on student character strengthening through school culture in senior high schools in Jambi Province. To conclude, the higher the application of emotional intelligence, spiritual intelligence, and work culture, the higher the student character strengthening.
