ABSTRACT

This paper revealed that Qur’ān Surah 16:78 about the process of human learning seems dichotomous with neuroscience, even though both have something in common with each other. The purpose of this study was to find new scientific varieties resulting from the hybridization of the interpretation of al-Quran and neuroscience. This research is an interdisciplinary study with a qualitative approach in the form of library research and human neurosurgery. The data taken from the existing literature, the relevant verses of the Qur’ān, and scientific evidence of neuroscience were analyzed using the content analysis approach. The results of the research revealed that the term al-afidah corresponded to human neurosurgery because the learning process from the cochlea (as-sama’), the retina, and the dermis nerves (al-abṣār), and all of the neurons transfers the signal to the frontal lobe (al-afidah) to be processed in the cerebral cortex to determine the extent whether it is a logical science or not.
