ABSTRACT

Improving the social welfare of the community can be done with development efforts. The indicators that can be used is the life expectancy figure. Where the high life expectancy has an impact both positive and negative. The purpose of this study is to analyze the factors that influence the elderly population in Jambi Province to work based on demographic characteristics consisting of age, education, gender, health level, and marital status. The data used in this study is secondary data obtained from SUSENAS in Jambi in 2020. The population in this study was all residents aged 60 years and over who had working status in Jambi Province, which was 1,067 people. The method that used is regression analysis. The analysis showed that the variables of age, education, health, marital status, and gender had a simultaneous effect on the work participation of the elderly population. Meanwhile, partially affecting the work participation of the elderly, all variables except the gender variable.
