ABSTRACT

Pesantren, as one of the oldest Islamic educational institutions in Indonesia, is known to be able to survive in various conditions and continues to improve itself to face the digital era. One of the pesantren programs that has continued to develop and has received support from many parties to the current government is Pesantrenpreneur. This study aims to show that digital entrepreneurship programs have been developed in the agribusiness pesantren in Indonesia. This study uses a qualitative method with a phenomenological approach, and the sample of this study is Pesantren Al-Ittifaq (Alif) in Bandung. The data was obtained from observations, interviews with 27 informants, and a number of questionnaires using open-ended questions. The results showed that: (1) Pesantren have started to abandon traditional farming methods and are using e-farming, such as smart greenhouses, to produce their agricultural products and students’ learning practices; (2) Various online platforms and social media have also been used and developed by pesantren as digital marketing and entrepreneurship learning practices; and (3) Agribusiness pesantren are ready to face the 5.0 era by developing the Internet of Things in improving the quality of agricultural products. This study concluded that, although still in the process of developing and learning to adapt to digital technology, pesantren are able to produce quality agricultural products and can enter supermarket segments.
