ABSTRACT

The crisis of modernity, which impacts human life, is still a topic of serious discussion among scientists. It is not enough to criticize the objectives of modernity with anti-global warming demonstrations, go-green slogans, and the like. Some scientists prefer to conduct in-depth studies and philosophical contemplation to produce sketches of scientific paradigms that reveal the causes of the crisis of modernity and solutions that can be implemented to overcome them. This article examines Seyyed Hossein Nasr's ideas about the worldview of modernity, with its potential problems, and the construction of his critical paradigm of the problems of modernity. The method in this article is qualitative analytical, which examines Nasr's thought map, determines his domain, and analyzes it. According to Nasr, sticking to positivist premises has been the reason for the loss of human intuitive sensitivity to the point of spiritual emptiness. Nasr's serious criticism of the worldview of modernity revolves around the carelessness of modernity in justifying all means so that modernity itself becomes detached from the ‘Transcendent’ as the most important foundation of human life.
