ABSTRACT

Predictive digital twins can support asset managers in assessing the end-of-service life phase of infrastructure. This paper reports on the development of a standardized Digital Twin System Architecture integrating various system layers, which can help asset managers in effectively and efficiently deploying (new) digital technologies to manage their asset networks. A Field-Lab in the Moerdijk bridge region allowed to perform the experiments, research and development of relevant building blocks towards the implementation of this digital twin architecture for steel bridges. This includes the chain from sensor-data, data-management, data-processing towards 3D visualization in a geospatial environment.
