ABSTRACT
This chapter reviews some of the most prominent ecosystems for Industrial Internet of Things and Industry 4.0 solutions, including their services and business models. It introduces the Edge4Industry ecosystem portal, which is a part of the ecosystem building efforts of the H2020 FAR-EDGE project. The chapter describes a representative sample of the IIoT platforms and their ecosystems, as well as a range of other Industry 4.0 platforms and testbeds, including their validation and experimentation services. The Industrial Internet Consortium (IIC) is an open-membership, international not-for-profit consortium that is leading the establishment of architectural frameworks and overall directions for the Industrial Internet. The IIC scope includes the identification and location of sensor devices, the data exchange between them, control and integration of collections of heterogeneous devices, data extraction, and storage plus data and predictive analytics.
