ABSTRACT

This study aims to understand the self-healing process and coping strategies carried out by the millennial generation during the pandemic. Understand the efforts made to maintain mental health. The research was conducted with a qualitative approach by giving an open-ended questionnaire to 655 millennial generation respondents from various regions in Indonesia. Data collection is done online. Data analysis was carried out by categorizing themes and analyzing content. The results showed that the millennial generation carried out strategies to overcome conditions that were felt to be stressful during the pandemic by: 1) Doing positive activities/hobbies, 2) Worshiping, meditation, convincing themselves to calm themselves down, 3) Traveling outside the house, as a form of refreshing, 4) Express feelings or emotions experienced by telling stories to friends and family. An additional interesting finding from this study is that only 0.46% of respondents came and consulted a psychologist/doctor about the problems or pressures they were experiencing. The rest, 99.54% of respondents choose strategies to adapt and cope with the pressure they feel naturally and independently.
