ABSTRACT

The purpose of this research was to examine the quality of semen after freezing using tris aminomethane-egg yolk, AndroMed, and OviXcell as the diluents. This research was carried out in the Laboratory Singosari Center Artificial Insemination (SCAI) Malang, East Java, Indonesia. The method used in the study was an experimental laboratory with 3 treatments and 5 replications and the research design used a completely randomized design (CRD). The sample used had criteria for fresh semen from bull Saanen goats with a minimum individual motility of 70%. The treatment in this research was T0 = dilution of semen with tris aminomethane-egg yolk, T1 = dilution of semen with AndroMed, and T2 = dilution of semen with OviXcell. Then, the data obtained were analyzed using Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) with the variables used being individual motility and viability. These results showed no significant difference (P>0.05) in individual motility and viability. In conclusion, freezing of goat semen using tris aminomethane-egg yolk, AndroMed and OviXcell diluents had no difference in individual motility and viability.
