ABSTRACT

Rest areas are located every 30 kilometers as a temporary resting place for toll road users with various facilities, one of which is a mosque rest area with religious, economic, and social values. Al-Safar Mosque, which is located in the rest area of KM 88 B on the Cipularang toll road section, often experiences circulation problems because the application of circulation types, determination of circulation goals, and circulation patterns are not adjusted to the circulation activities of the mosque room users, especially before the holidays. The research question is whether the condition of the mosque's existing circulation system is to the circulation activities of mosque users. Empathize design thinking approach is used to find out the actual condition by conducting observations, interviews with users, and literature studies. It is known from the results of this study that the condition of the mosque's circulation system is not to the needs of mosque users’ circulation activities.
