ABSTRACT

There is a culture that has become a strong part of the local's daily life in manado, it's about consuming fish as a daily dish. This culture has given birth to a slogan that invites people to eat fish. This expression is also supported by cultural aspects that shown a strong involvement in consuming fish. The problem that occurs today is that there are still many people in Manado City who don’t know the detailed information about the cultural value of consuming fish from Minahasa's ancestors. Through qualitative research methods that will elaborate aspects of culture and communication and to accommodate systems that create the culture, the researcher aims to answer the problem about how to preserve the local's culture using the participatory design methods from the people of Manado. The result of this research is in a form of web design that works as a guide for cultural information regarding fish consumption in Manado and can be distributed to the public, domestic and foreign tourists.
