ABSTRACT

Insan Sejahtera Integrated Islamic Middle School is projected to create tough, achieving, and Islamic-minded students. To achieve this, the learning process must be supported by the comfort of a space in the perceptions of its users. This study aims to determine user perceptions of classrooms and dormitory rooms reviewed through 16 variables as a measure of room comfort. Research using descriptive and qualitative methods proves that in dormitory rooms, discomfort arises from the lack of artificial ventilation that makes the room feel hot. Meanwhile, classroom discomfort arises due to external noise and high temperatures when the weather is hot. The results of the study using a ‘Likert scale’ analysis showed that user perceptions of the rooms still do not meet the ideal level of comfort because there are still many comfort factors that have not been fulfilled optimally. The level of comfort of the room is an aspect of further research.
