ABSTRACT
Metaverse is a digital world in the form of virtual reality where humans can interact in real-time using 3D avatars. Metaverse makes it possible to have new experiences online and get different interactions from online meetings in general. The study attempted to look at the development of the metaverse concerning law enforcement, both private and criminal law. Example of a case that attracted attention regarding metaverse in criminal law is about sexual harassment. On the other hand, cases related to metaverse in private law is data protection and intellectual property rights. This is important to discuss given the extent to which law can apply its jurisdiction on cases that occur in the metaverse world. This study is a review of the application of the law in the metaverse with further analysis of its legal status.
