ABSTRACT
Sitting facilities in public spaces are currently a requirement of a city. This facility is known as street furniture. The current street furniture design is very varied, both in terms of shape and material, which must answer the needs of outdoor conditions other than aesthetics, function, and user comfort. Improper furniture design can lead to inefficient use of materials. This article focuses on the study of street furniture design and materials in Jalan Ir. H. Djuanda, Bandung. The analysis intended to determine the suitability of existing furniture with standards design based on local rules, trends, and materials focused on sustainable materials. The method of data collection was observation and literature. This study uses a qualitative description to identify and analyze the existing design and material. With the studies of sustainable materials, the designer considers the design of furniture materials possibilities. The conclusion is effective use of materials and good design is a form of sustainability.
